La práctica de Christoffer Joergensen explora la compleja interacción entre la realidad material y la imaginación humana. Empleando la fotografía como marcador de posición para nuestra percepción intuitiva del mundo, somete el medio a una serie de transformaciones, en ocasiones alienándolo hasta el punto de la abstracción. En el proceso de combinar la fotografía con otras técnicas, desde artesanías antiguas hasta el último software digital, descubre capas de realidad más profundas y atemporales.
Joergensen ha estado perfeccionando y ampliando constantemente sus proyectos a largo plazo durante los últimos 15 años. Al mismo tiempo, su práctica está arraigada en los medios y técnicas culturales en constante evolución de la actualidad. Su trabajo refleja el conflicto interno que muchos experimentan hoy en día entre la creación de una identidad personal inalterable y la vida en un mundo en constante cambio de sistemas y redes interrelacionados. Hoy en día, crear y consumir imágenes es más rápido y más fácil que nunca. Joergensen reintroduce los elementos del tiempo y la contemplación en el medio de la fotografía ralentizando la producción y recepción de sus fotografías y vídeos. En su experiencia, el arte puede darnos atemporalidad sólo si le damos tiempo.
